Sam

Dance Teacher

Samantha "Sam" is currently working toward her Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a minor in entrepreneurship. Samantha’s dance journey began when she joined Color Guard her freshman year of high school, but it wasn’t until she started taking studio classes here at the University of Oregon that she fell in love with dance. So far in her time at UO, she’s been part of the Student Dance Collective (a touring student company), performed in numerous dance concerts, presented her piece 'Dancing With Grief' at the American College Dance Association conference for adjudication, worked closely with SOMD Dean Sabrina Madison-Cannon as the current co-president of the Dean's Student Advisory Council, and is currently the Public Relations Coordinator for Dance Oregon. After she graduates from UO, she hopes to attain her MFA in dance and create spaces for minority groups to connect and share their creative pursuits while introducing the importance of art to the younger generation.
